Digestive System (Agni)
Introduction: Digestive system is one of the most important part of our body. A person having better digestive system is less likely to suffer from various diseases. Healthy digestion leads to a healthy life. Healthy system is an important aspect for development of consciousness as well as physical health. It is also referred to Agni. It acts as a guard for good health. Balancing Agni is important as it plays a vital role in absorption of essential nutrients from the food we eat and digest our meals effectively and smoothly. When our Agni is strong body creates healthy bones and tissues and eliminate waste and toxic products effectively. Weakened Agni results in imbalance of tri-doshas. Eating in a calm and seated environment with moderate pace has been rare in today’s hectic life and modern lifestyle which is causing major harm to our digestive system. Even eating freshly-cooked food is not a normal practise nowadays. Immediately going to bed after meals, lack of gentle walking or other light activities after food intake, overeating, lack of regular water intake, unhealthy and irregular routine, bad food combinations are some of the causes which lead to disorders related to digestive system.
